How to Plan a Winter Proposal at River Point Park in Chicago
Is River Point Park a good place for a winter proposal?
River Point Park offers a stunning view of the Chicago Riverwalk, even in the winter. The park’s unique location provides a picturesque backdrop with the city’s iconic skyline reflected in the water. It’s an ideal spot for a romantic, intimate moment, even during the colder months.
How can you plan a winter proposal at River Point Park?
Cam had a vision for a surprise winter proposal that would capture the beauty of the season and the Riverwalk. He also wanted to make the moment extra special by including both of their families in the celebration. His plan started with a dinner reservation at Gibson’s Italia, a nearby restaurant known for its incredible food and views. Cam used the dinner reservation as the perfect excuse to get dressed up and head to the area.
Once they arrived at River Point Park, Cam led Justyna to a scenic spot overlooking the river. That’s when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Meanwhile, I captured the moment from a distance, keeping the experience as candid and non-intrusive as possible.
What to do after the proposal at River Point Park?
After Justyna said yes, we took some celebratory photos around the park, making the most of the winter scenery. As we were wrapping up the portraits, their families emerged from Gibson’s Italia to join in the celebration. The joy and surprise on Justyna’s face were unforgettable!
We captured a few group photos outdoors before heading inside to warm up. The night ended with a champagne toast at the restaurant, perfectly closing out their unforgettable evening.
Why is including family in your proposal a great idea?
Including family in a proposal adds a meaningful layer to the moment. For Cam and Justyna, having their loved ones nearby made the day even more special. Whether they’re hiding in the background or meeting you afterward, family can help create a celebration filled with love and support.
