Garden of the Phoenix

What is the perfect Spring Proposal Spot in Chicago?

You don’t want to miss Chicago in the spring! While many don’t associate a bustling city like Chicago with spring blossoms, the city boasts numerous parks with beautifully curated landscapes. One such hidden gem is Chicago’s Garden of the Phoenix.

Why is the Garden of the Phoenix Ideal for Proposals?

If you’re searching for a proposal location with a lush backdrop of nature, cherry blossoms, and japanese landscaping, the Garden of the Phoenix checks all the boxes. Located in Jackson Park, just a short walk from the Museum of Science and Industry, this park truly shines in the spring with its iconic cherry blossoms and serene Japanese gardens. Though this doesn’t mean its not pretty all year round! Since its located away from busy downtown Chicago, it typically has low foot traffic.

A Perfect Proposal Story

Kahlan found this to be the ideal spot to propose to Laura. To get her out there he made up fake plans for a work event that was being hosted near by. They planed to check out the park to kill time as they arrived early and heard so highly of it. We went with a covert approach. This setup was perfect for guiding them into the ideal position and keeping Laura completely surprised.

What Makes the Garden of the Phoenix Special

I love this location because it offers so many great portrait areas. The park typically has low foot taffic, but can have its busy hours. Planning around them can provide you with some breathtaking vantage points. You can’t beat this a beautiful and unique Chicago Garden.

Some popular proposal locations within the park are on its Japanese style bridge, by the waterfall, or by overlooking the pond and the park. There really is non bad angle!

  2. Plan Around Peak Hours: Although the park can get busy, timing your visit can help you find the best, least crowded spots for your proposal. If your planning to catch the blossoms, expect a little more foot traffic than usual, but we can always beat the crowds with early planning.
